How to Calculate my GPA
Each letter grade is assigned a certain amount of points, as demonstrated by the chart below.
| Letter Grades | Points |
| A= | 4 |
| B= | 3 |
| C= | 2 |
| D= | 1 |
| F, I= | 0 |
Take the total amount of points you earned for the credits that were completed for the term you are calculating. For example:
| Course | Credits | Grade | Total Points |
| ACCT201 | 4 | D | 4*1=4 |
| CIS321 | 3 | F | 0*0=0 |
| SPCH275 | 3 | B | 3*3=9 |
| PSYC110 | 3 | B | 3*3=9 |
| Total credits: | 13 | Total Points | 22 |
After that you will need to divide the total amount of points by the total amount of credits completed. (ex. 22/13=1.69)
This student would have completed the semester with a 1.69 TERM GPA.
Your CUMULATIVE GPA can also be calculated by using a similar method.
Take the total amount of cumulative points earned and divide that number by the total amount of credits earned to calculate your cumulative GPA. This will give you your cumulative GPA.
| CUMULATIVE CREDITS | CUMULATIVE POINTS | GPA |
| 56 | 105 | 105/56=1.88 |
